Richard Paul “Pookie” Baldwin, 32, of Columbia, KY tragically passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in Creelsboro, KY. He was born on Tuesday, April 24, 1990 in Fletcher, NC to Ricky and Lorie Larson Baldwin.
Richard’s passion in life, aside from his family, was Demolition Derby Cars. He proudly wore the number 424 for Fat Boys Inc, 206. He loved to be outdoors and working with his hands. He was highly intelligent, the life of the party, and had a pure heart of gold. He was employed by Four Seasons Heating and Air in Russell Springs, KY.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Jaireka Barnett Baldwin of Columbia, KY, who he wed on April 30, 2021; his two beautiful children, Laramie Patience Baldwin and Hemi Storm Baldwin both of Columbia, KY; his parents Ricky and Lorie Larson Baldwin of Columbia, KY; two sisters Becky Ramsey (Dewayne) of Campbellsville, KY and Lisa Risher (Erick) of Churchill, TN; a nephew and niece James Ramsey of Campbellsville, KY and Kaydance Risher of Churchill, TN; a special niece Lariat Baker of Columbia, KY; his mother-in-law Annita Dial (Ricky Bledsoe) of Columbia, KY and his nanna Shirley (Nash) York of Columbia, KY.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Verna Scherbinski Larson, Lyle Larson, Dorothy Stroup Baldwin, and Earl Baldwin. A special “pops” to him, Richard Dallas York.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday after 9:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Steve Harvey will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Cameron Barnett, Michael Williams, Thomas Long, Ashton Powell, Alex Cary, and Patrick Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Curtis, Brandon Curtis, Jordan Baker, Jaykob Lee, Steve Harvey, Dylan Gray, Jason Janes, David Cook, Erick Risher, Dewayne Ramsey, James Ramsey, Jody Stapleton, and Gunner Franklin.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
