Larry Wayne Powell, 72, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at University of Kentucky Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born on July 15, 1950, in Campbellsville, KY to the late Raymond and Emily McCorkle Powell.
Larry attended the Kellyville Community Church and enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Deretha Spires Powell of Columbia, KY; five children Kim Grider (Mike) of Russell Springs, KY, Chad Powell, Brent Powell (Michelle), Nichole Bair (Tim), and Bradley Powell all of Columbia, KY; six grandchildren Tristan Coomer, Erin Grace Bair, Elizabeth Michelle Bair, Sarah Paige Grider, Lucas Powell, and Griffitt Powell; his siblings Jerry Raymond Powell (Bonnie) of Columbia, KY, Ronnie Lee Powell (Lisa) of Bardstown, KY, Doris Grant of Russell Springs, KY, and Dimple Stilts (J. W.) of Greensburg, KY; a brother-in-law L.C. Green of Columbia, KY and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Barbara Green and Zane Vanarsdale and a brother-in-law Randal Grant.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Sunday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Stanley Watson will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Tim Bair, Mike Grider, Lucas Powell, Tristan Coomer, Dennis Bailey, and Danny Bailey.
