Juanita Dowell Blankenship, 86, of Columbia died Friday, October 2, 2020 in Campbellsville, KY. Born in Adair County she was the daughter of the late Dolphus and Helen Rogers Dowell and wife of the late Elmer Chapman “Jack” Blankenship.
Mrs. Blankenship was of the Baptist faith and a retired school teacher, starting her career in rural Adair County at a one room school and finishing at Colonel William Casey Elementary School. She enjoyed Kentucky basketball, bingo, fishing and genealogy.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including Dorene Miller of Campbellsville, KY.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00am Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Smith, Grant Bays, Bill Hartman, George Moss, David Rogers & Troy Bishop.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Green River Hosparus and can be left at the funeral home.
