Jessie Delpha (Conrad) Dulworth, 99, of Breeding, KY died June 7, 2023, at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, surrounded by love in the presence of her two daughters and two granddaughters. Born in Breeding, on February 23, 1924, she was one of five children born to the late Orbin and Georgia Jessie Conrad of Breeding, KY.
Mrs. Dulworth grew up along West Fork Creek in Breeding and later lived for close to fifty years in Tampa, Florida. She was a homemaker and she and her late husband of 49 years, Elijah Buel Dulworth, spent almost two decades as “snowbirds,” traveling between their homes in Florida and Kentucky before making Kentucky their full-time home state again in 1999.
She was a devoted Christian whose faith shaped her life’s example of humility, kindness, and love. A lifelong fan of the gospels and gospel music, she had been a member of the Riverhills Church of God in Tampa and later the Columbia Church of God.
Friends and family who had the good fortune to enjoy her delicious country cooking often asked for seconds, thirds, and “more” helpings. Along with the pleasure of feeding people, she had enjoyed quilting, canning, and actively working in her garden and yard.
Along with her late husband, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Nelson, Stanley, and Sam; her sister, Reba Conrad Daniel; her son-in-law, Gerald Holt, and nephew, Kenneth Conrad.
Survivors include her two children, Joan Dulworth of Columbia, KY, and Sherrie Dulworth of Mount Kisco, NY. She was NaNa (grandmother) to Leah (Roger) Samuell of Breeding, KY, and Jessie (Rich) LaBombard of Orlando, FL. A blessing to her life, her grandson-in-law Roger Samuell was a special caregiver to her in her final years of life. She was blessed with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, all of whom she dearly loved.
Visitation will be after 11:00am Saturday, June 10, 2023, followed by the funeral at 1:00pm Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. There will be a brief graveside service at the West Fork Creek Cemetery, with burial alongside her husband.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family requests that any acts of kindness be in the form of donations to Lake Cumberland Hospice at 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
