Jason Tyler Knight

Jason Tyler Knight, 33, of Bowling Green, KY and formerly of Columbia, KY passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his residence. He was born on September 5, 1990, in Campbellsville, KY to William A. “Bug” and Lana Wilson Knight of Columbia, KY who survives.

For 33 years, Tyler blazed his way through this world as a fireball of love and positivity—all unshakable kindness, limitless generosity, clever humor, and unflappable confidence.

He left a mark on every person he encountered with his quirky personality and ability to connect with people on levels that most simply cannot reach. He knew what people needed—a good time, a shoulder to cry on, a funny joke to laugh at, or a good song to sing along to.

Tyler was a lifelong member of Bearwallow Methodist Church and an artist. In addition to his parents, he is survived by the love of his life, Katey Skees of Bowling Green; his siblings, Will “Little Bug” Knight (Melissa) of Lebanon, KY, and Amanda Knight Decker (Michael) of Columbia, KY; three nieces, Charley Decker, Trinity Scout Decker, and Braelyn Lee; four nephews, Zachary Knight, William Knight IV, Cameron Knight, and Peyton Lee, along with several other friends and relatives.

Also surviving are the countless memories made over the years that will never be forgotten—the stories told and untold and the feelings that Tyler imparted on those around him. These memories will live on forever.

Tyler’s interests and hobbies were as eclectic as he was, and included sports, music, movies, art, literature, and fashion, but his expertise was pure love. His family, his friends, and his beloved Katey take comfort in the knowledge that the time they all shared was as true and genuine as is possible on this earth.

It has been suggested and assumed correct that Tyler is now the best dressed person in heaven this side of God.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00-8:00pm and will continue Saturday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Jimmy Dale Cox will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Josh Popplewell, Adam Capps, James Roberts, Jordan Knifley, Jordan Willis, Craig Clark, Scottie Blair, and William Knight IV.
