Wendell Burton, 71, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.  He was born on October 11, 1950 in Adair County to the late Lether and Ruthie Bryant Burton.  He married the late Helen Faye Kemp Burton on June 26, 1970.

Wendell had professed his faith in Christ and dedicated his life to his farm, helping his neighbors and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Survivors include four children Suzanna Streeval (Tony), Rodney Burton (Ashley), Cagney Burton and Kayla Hagedorn (Vince) all of Columbia, KY; eight grandchildren Leslie, Sarah and Lily Streeval, Ethan, Audra and Asher Burton and Jake and Levi Hagedorn; a brother  Onda Wayne Burton of Columbia, KY and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Baylee Fayth Hagedorn; six brothers Joseph, Zenith, Jimmy, Ronald "Moonbeam", Gobbel and Minnie and two sisters Katie McKinney and Wanda Burton.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, July 11, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue on Monday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Ralph Foster will be officiating and pallbearers will be Dewayne McKinney, Greg Burton, Donnie Burton, Jimmy Bailey, Larry Burton and Mark Redman.
