VERNON LEE "PETE" McKINNEY, 80 of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11:24 AM at his home after a long illness.

He was born November 3, 1935 in Adair County, KY the son of the late: Austin and Cecil Burton McKinney, also preceded in death by one brother Bobby McKinney and two sister Louise McKinney and Allene Holmes.

Pete is survived by one son:

Douglas Rex McKinney and wife Susan of Palos Hills, Illinois

One daughter:

Tammy Lee McKinney and her husband Michael Nilles of Palos Hills, Illinois

Two brothers: Steve McKinney of Columbia, Ky and Gary McKinney of Jeffersonville, IN

Three grandchildren: Austin Lee McKinney, Riley Ann McKinney, Andrew Douglas McKinney

Mr. McKinney was a member of the Bearwallow United Methodist Church, a US Army veteran and was retired from General Motors / Electromotive in Chicago, Illinois
