Velva Jean Burton, 83, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Columbia, KY on December 25, 1941, to the late Carter and Bertha Burton Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy A. Burton.

Mrs. Burton was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two children, Sandra Lynn England (Terry) of Edinburgh, IN and Robert E. Campbell, Jr. of Columbia, KY; seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three children Cathy Jo Turner, Jeffrey Costello, and William Costello, eight siblings Charles, Kenneth, Archie, Keven, and Gary Bryant, Jewell Williams, Lettie Burton, and Betty Ellis and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Grace Tabernacle Church in Edinburgh, IN with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY and on Thursday from 11:00-1:00pm at Grace Tabernacle Church in Edinburgh, IN.
