VELMA SPIRES age 84 years of Campbellsville, KY formerly of the Knifley Community passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at 8:32 am at the Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, KY

She was born November 16, 1929 in Taylor County, Kentucky the daughter of the late:

Walter and Effie Lewis Bright.

She was preceded in death by her husband: William Spires on June 26, 1994

By these siblings: Allene Arnold, Eunice Scott, Arvin Bright and an infant brother Darrell Bright and by two granddaughters: Valerie Keith and Andrea Melton

Survived by four sons:

Tommy Spires and wife: Marsha of Louisville, KY

Jeralyn Spires and wife: Pam of Columbia, KY

Keven Spires and wife: Rita of Campbellsville, KY

Anthony Spires and wife: Vickie of Bowling Green, KY

Four daughters:

Kaylene Kelsay and husband; Bobby of Campbellsville, KY

Treva Helm and husband: Danny of Glensfork, KY

Deretha Powell and husband: Larry of Columbia, KY

Renee Reeves and husband: Dennis of Columbia, KY

Survived by 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren

Also survived by two brothers in law: Joe Spires and Junior B. Spires and two sisters in law: Imogene Giles and Beatrice Phipps

Mrs. Spires had professed her faith in Christ, followed in believers baptism, attended the Kellyville Community Church and was a homemaker.
