V.O. "DOC" MOSS age 90 years a resident of Summit Manor Health
and Rehab Center in Columbia KY passed away Monday, April 5, 2010
at 6:20 A.M. at the Westlake Regional Hospital after a short illness.
He was born February 4, 1920 in Mell, Kentucky the son of the late:
John Marshall & Allie Wood Lee Moss of Adair County, KY
Mr. Moss was preceded in death by his wife: Hazel Alley Moss on
December 2, 2001 and by one daughter: Norma Veech in Oct. 31, 1999.
Preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters.
Cymbeline Keltner, Loren Moss, Hortense Roper, Ruth Richardson,
Ruel Moss, James W. Moss, John A. Moss
Survived by two daughters:
Belinda Finn & husband: David of Helena, Alabama
Patricia Adams & husband: John of Massillon, Ohio
Two sisters survive:
Venie Coffey of Greensburg, KY
Bedeva Bowling of Delphi, Indiana
Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews survive
Mr. Moss was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church
a graduate of Union College and a Bible scholar,
Mr. Moss was also a retired U S Army World War II veteran serving
for 23 years and later was a hair stylist in Columbia for several years.
He was a member of Columbia Lodge # 96 and a writer.
Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday by Columbia Lodge # 96
Funeral service: Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Stotts-Phelps-
McQueary Funeral Home
Clergy officiating: Rev. Neil Janes
Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery
Full military honors will be conducted by a US Army Ft. Campbell funeral detail.
Visitation after 4:30 PM on Wednesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
