Obituary

Thelma Etta Smith Cook, age 102 passed away at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY Thursday, December 27, 2012.

She was a life-long resident of Adair County, Kentucky where she was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a devout Christian from an early age. Her goal in life was to do for others. After the death of her mother, she raised her three younger brothers and little sister. When she had time, she loved gardening, crocheting and making quilts.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Cook, parents Newton and Maggie Thurman Smith.

Survived by her daughter:

Doris Rudder and husband John of Stevenson, Alabama

Two grandchildren:

John C. Rudder and Mary Etta Rowe

Four great grandchildren: Josh Rudder, Lucas Rudder, Zack Rowe and Seth Rowe and by five great - great grandchildren

Funeral service: Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps- McQueary Funeral Home

Clergy officiating: Bro. Ralph Hadley

Interment in the Columbia Cemetery

The family request visitation from 3:00 PM till 8:00 PM Saturday and

after 7:00 A. M. on Sunday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
