Thelbert Burton age 77 years of Kingsport, TN formerly of Adair County and

Louisville, Ky. passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 7:03 P. M. at his home surrounded by his family

He is a Korean War Veteran who lived in Illinois, Iowa and Louisville, Ky. He was

a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Kingsport, where his son is the

pastor. He and his wife were long-time members of Bashford Manor Church in

Louisville, Ky.. He was a retired electrical worker with General Electric

He was born in Christine (Adair County) Kentucky on January 20, 1932

He was the son of the late Johnie & Delie McQueary Burton of Adair County

Survived by his wife of 52 years Charlotte Faye Peterson Burton of Kingsport, TN

One son: Greg Burton & his wife Theresa of Kingsport, TN

Two brothers: Prenith Burton & wife Deloris of Glasgow, Ky. & John Phillip Burton & wife Naomi of Columbia, Ky.

Five sisters: Margie McKenzie & husband Henry of Louisville, Ky., Kathryn Burton of Columbia, Ky., Barbara Churchill & husband Tom of California, Betty Jo Sneed & husband William of Columbia, Ky., Georgie Mings & husband Ralph of Elk Horn, Ky.

Three grandchildren: Adam Burton of Lawrenceburg, Ky., Andrew Burton &

Ashley Burton of Kingsport

Several nieces, nephews & a host of other relatives & friends survive

Visitation will be Monday even from 5-7 P.M. June 22, 2009 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia followed by funeral service at 7:00 P. M.
