SAM BIVENS age 61 years of 723 Mitchell Street, Columbia, KY passed
away Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 4:55 A.M. at the Summit Manor Health
and Rehab Center in Columbia after several months illness.
He was the son of the late: G. C. and Daisy Spivey Bivens of Jefferson City,
Tennessee
Survived by his wife: Donna Vanarsdale Bivens of Columbia, KY
One son: Chad Bivens and wife: Pam of Columbia, KY
One daughter: Stephanie Wilkerson and husband Robin of Columbia, KY
One brother: Charles Bivens of Dallas, Georgia
Three grandchildren: Jordon Knifley, Dillon Wilkerson & Emily Bivens
Sam is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Sam was employed by IMO Industries for 33 years as a senior engineer
He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He was a longtime
baseball umpire for Adair County High School and Adair County Little League
and umpired in surrounding counties, he was also an assistant coach for the
Adair County Football Program and volunteered countless hours to
Adair County Youth Sports Programs.
Funeral service: Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
Clergy officiating: Bro. Bobby Withers & Bro. Scott Ezell
Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 6097
