Dr. Robert Kell age 56 of Columbia, KY passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 09, 2010 in Columbia, KY
He was born January 4, 1954 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvannia
Dr. Kell was currently serving as the Medical Director of Westlake Family Practice in Columbia, KY. He previously served as staff physician at the Westlake Primary Care, Casey County Primary Care and Edmonton Primary Care from 2000 until present, he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1995 from Louisiana State University,
a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech in 1989 and
his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University in 1975. He worked in South Carolina and Louisiana as a plant and project engineer from 1975 to 1991 before choosing to pursue a medical degree. His research experience included diabetes, hypertension and aging. While completing his residency at the University of Kentucky/VA Hospital, he received the Resident Research Award.
His passion was running and he participated in various United States triathlons and
marathons and received many trophies and medals. He was a member of the Columbia
United Methodist Church and was a devoted husband, father and dedicated doctor
He was the son of the late John Kell
Survived by his mother: Arvilla Kell of Elizabethville, Pennsylvania
Survived by his wife: Susan Osborn Kell of Columbia, KY
Two children survive:
Adrien Osborn Kell and Andrew Osborn Kell both of Columbia, KY
Two brothers: John Kell of Elizabethville, Pennsylvania and Larry Kell of York Haven, Pennsylvania
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the
Columbia Cemetery (the section adjoining the Adair Judicial Center)
The family will receive friends after 3:00 PM on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary
Funeral Home
The family has chosen cremation
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society and may be made at the funeral home
