Renea Kerns, age 90, of Lebanon Junction, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 14, 2023. She was born on Friday, November 8, 1932, in Adair County, to the late Freemon and Rachel Coomer. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those for whom she loved and cared.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lee Roy Kerns, siblings, Leon Coomer, Forbes Coomer, Landon Coomer, and Matra Stargel.

She is survived by her children Diann Elliott (Jimmy), Patsy Young (Paul), Roy David Kerns (Nancy), June Moore (Roy), Rebecca Ashbaugh (Terry); sister, Estelene Hayes; grandchildren, Angie Etherton, Stephanie Lewis, Paula Peoples, Matthew Kerns, Andrew Kile, Daniel Moore, Haley Keeling, Emily Moore; 13 great- grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

A prayer service will be conducted on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 6:00pm in the chapel of Hardy Close Funeral Home (285 S. Buckman Street in Shepherdsville). Family and friends may pay their respects from 2pm to 8pm on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Hardy-Close.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home at 2:00pm central time with burial to follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may pay their respects after 10:00am Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
