August 15, 2012 at 10:10 A. M. at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room
He was born on April 20, 1925 at Breeding, Kentucky in Adair County
He was the son of the late Gilliam & Hattie Janes Akin &
was preceded in death by his wife Ritchie Traylor Akin, also one son Jimmie Akin,
One daughter Peggy Akin, a daughter-in-law Thelma Jean Burton Akin on July 19, 1991
a Great Grandson Christopher Michael Akin on Nov. 26, 2000,
one brother Ray Akin & two sisters Hilma Burton & Mabel Harvey
He is survived by one son: Mike Akin of Columbia
One daughter: Pam Woolsey & husband Roy of Columbia
Two sisters: Zella Cole of Glasgow, Ky. & Ida Benita Montgomery of Russell Springs, Ky.
Grandchildren: Kenny Akin, Philip Woolsey & his wife Shannon & Andrea Woolsey
Great Granddaughter: Shelby Akin
Ralph was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church,
Retired from Kroger in Louisville, a Veteran of World War II
Funeral service Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church
Clergy officiating Rev. Steve Pescosolido, Rev. P. T. Barnum & Rev. William R. Davenport
Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery with full military honors by Columbia VFW Post 6097
