PHILLIP GASKINS, 68 years of the Liberty Road, Columbia, KY (the Ella Community) passed away suddenly Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1:05 AM at the Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs after a short illness.

He was the son of the late Paul Edward Gaskins and is survived by his mother

Charlene Shepherd Gaskins of Columbia, KY

Besides his father he was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Kendall Gaskins on July 3, 2008 and a granddaughter Brittany Diane Gaskins

Survived by two sons: Ricky Gaskins and wife Diane of Greensburg, KY

Shane Gaskins and wife Teresa of Columbia, KY

One daughter: Juanita Scott and husband Doug of Columbia, KY

One sister: Phyllis Gaskins of Columbia, KY

One brother: Dale Gaskins and wife Linda of Bolingbrook, Illinois

10 grandchildren: Joshua Gaskins, Jonathan Richard Gaskins, Percilla Gaskins, Anthony Alley, Jonathan Michael Scott, Corey Scott, Brandon Byrd, Bradley Byrd, Aaron Gaskins, Alex Gaskins, 11 great grandchildren survive

Two special step sons: Abdul Sammad, Juan Sanabria and a host of family and friends

Mr. Gaskins was a member of the Millerfield Brethren in Christ Church, a Vietnam veteran, he participated in the Casey County Jail ministry and was an outstanding member of the community.

A celebration of life for Phillip Gaskins will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at

1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097
