Norman Russell Furkin, age 84, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday October 7, 2026, at his Residence. He was born in Columbia, Kentucky on December 26, 1941, to the late Rual and Corrine McClister Furkin.

Mr. Furkin retired from the Kentucky Highway Department, was of the Christian faith, enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents. Mr. Furkin was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Marie Janes Furkin and two siblings Joyce Janes and Billy Dean Furkin.

He is survived by four children Tony Furkin (Debbie) of Columbia, KY, Barry Furkin (Andrea) of Columbia, KY, Shelia Bennett (Ronnie) of Columbia, KY, and Brian Furkin (David Salyers) of Alvaton, KY; Five grandchildren Savannah Bell (Terence), Ricky Bennett, Christian Furkin (Josh Barrett), Lindsey Furkin, and Josh Allen Furkin (Brittany); Nine great grandchildren; and two half-brothers.

In honoring Mr. Furkin’s wishes the family chose cremation and no services are scheduled at this time.
