IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Jane
Cozby
June 13, 1945 – May 11, 2014
Nancy Cozby died early Sunday, May 11, 2014 at her home on Little Cake Road in Columbia, Kentucky. She fought a long and hard battle with cancer after being
diagnosed more than two years ago. She leaves behind her husband of 18 years,
Jerry Holt, her step daughter Natasha, her sister and brother in law: Linda and
Fred Wertheimer of Washington, D. C.
Nancy and Jerry moved to Columbia eight years ago from Denver after his retirement
From Hewlett Packhard, attracted to the area by its beauty, the mild climate, the lakes and rivers and the possibility of living in the country, something Nancy had always wanted to do. They immediately became involved in the life of this community; Nancy a potter, but she also took classes in drawing and watercolor after moving to Columbia and she tried a new craft, basket making. For about two years, Nancy taught Yoga for the extension service. Both Nancy and Jerry were enthusiastic members of
The Lindsey Wilson Wellness Center, where Nancy swam and took water aerobics classes until the very last weeks of her life.
Nancy Cozby was born in Texas in the last year of the second world war, raised in
Carlsbad, New Mexico and educated at the University of New Mexico. She had two
Graduate degrees in Pyschology and practiced as a family therapist for many years.
Nancy died at home with her husband Jerry, her daughter Natasha and her sister
Linda with her. She was sixty eight years old.
The family plans a memorial service on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 4:00 PM at their
farm on Little Cake Road with a reception and dinner to follow the service. Her sister
Linda Wertheimer will preside over the service.
They ask that instead of sending flowers, friends might consider a contribution to an
