Michael Adam Curry, 37, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Columbia, KY. Born on July 5, 1988, in Campbellsville, KY, Michael lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and the pursuits that brought him joy.
Michael proudly served in the United States Marines, with deployments in both Afghanistan and Iraq. His commitment to service exemplified his courage and sense of duty, traits that were evident throughout his life. Beyond his military service, Michael loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially cherished moments with his nieces and nephews, as well as with his beloved dogs, Lulu and Fatty. Among his interests were shooting guns and riding his side by side, activities that reflected his adventurous spirit.
Michael is survived by his father, Michael Curry, and his wife, Shannon, of Russell Springs, KY. He is also survived by his siblings Joe Curry and Kristi, Anthony Curry and April, and Adriane Curry, all residing in Columbia, KY. His extended family includes his half-brother Elijah Curry and stepsister Jasmine Curry, both of Russell Springs, KY. He took great pleasure in the company of his nieces and nephews: Hailey, Abby, Tanner, Trevor, Jakob, Lukas, Gracie, and Tommy Curry, Bryson Helm, Bentley Moore, and Amelia Neathery. Michael was also deeply bonded to his brother in arms, honoring the enduring spirit of "SEMPER FI."
He is preceded in death by his mother Cynthia Stapleton Bradshaw and stepfather Dean Bell.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 6097.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-8:00pm and will continue Tuesday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Michael Adam Curry’s life was one of steadfast loyalty, affection, and a pursuit of the things he loved most. His memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to a man who served his country honorably and loved his family deeply. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
