LYLE MITCHELL SMITH age 91 years of the Cane Valley Community passed away Wednesday, January

11, 2012 at 6:03 A.M. at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, KY after an illness. He

was born June 5, 1920 in Adair County, KY the son of the late: Roy E. and Sally Hudson Smith

Mr. Smith was a lifelong farmer in the Cane Valley area, a U S Army World War II veteran, a member of

Columbia Masonic Lodge # 96 for over 60 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Lois Sullivan Smith on April 11, 1991 and by one brother: Lee Smith

Survived by one son: Gene Mitchell Smith of Columbia, KY

Two nieces: Lana Glasgow of Columbia, KY

Lisa Riley of Glasgow, KY

One "special granddaughter": Cassie Jo Rogers of Columbia, KY

Funeral service: Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

Clergy officiating: Rev. Steve Willis

Interment will be in the Columbia Cemetery

Visitation after 2:30 PM on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Masonic rites will be

conferred on Friday night at 7:00 PM by Columbia Lodge # 96
