Lucy E. Long, 92, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at her residence. She was born on October 8, 1933, in Gradyville, KY to the late William “Bill” and Kizzie Janes Richard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Daniel “J.D.” Long; a daughter Mary Elizabeth Long; a stepson Donald Joe Long and seven sibling LT Richard, Artie Aaron, Mag Sneed, Margie Sneed, Bernice Taylor, Margaret Davis, and Pete Richard.

Mrs. Long previously attended the Victory Community Church and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include five children Mae Long and Thomas Douglas Long (Eudie Bennett) both of Columbia, KY and Lula Ann Turpin (Kevin) of Indianapolis, IN; two stepsons Ricky Long (Cecillia) of Orlando, FL and Jim Long (Susan) of Winter Park, FL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00am on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Rick Shelton will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Jessie Coomer, Brandon Turpin, Dillan Long, Alex Coomer, James Skaggs and Kevin Turpin.
