Lowell Dean Pelston, aged 76, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Born on March 30, 1949, in Breeding, Kentucky, Lowell was a devoted family man and a respected member of his community.
For many years, Lowell had a fulfilling career as a machinist at IMO, where he was well-regarded for his expertise and dedication. He lived his life with a passion for tinkering, especially enjoying the challenge of working on and restoring old cars. His garage was a sanctuary where he found joy in every project, and his love for automobiles was matched only by his love for his family and friends.
He attended the Antioch Church; Lowell was known for his warm spirit and generous heart. He cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, creating memories that will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him. As a husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he played a pivotal role in the lives of many, offering guidance, love, and unwavering support.
Lowell leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy England Pelston, of Columbia, Kentucky. He is survived by his three sons, Brent Pelston (Lisa), Bradley Pelston (Susan), and Bart Pelston (Laramie), all of Columbia. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Blake Pelston (Hannah), Harlie Scott (Corey), Chad Price (Amy), Ashley Price (Patrick Henson), Zoie Little (Michael), Raylie Pelston, Greyson Pelston, and Dawson Pelston. Additionally, Lowell takes pride in being a grandfather to nine great-grandchildren, with two on the way, and one great-great-grandchild, who will carry forward his spirit.
Lowell is also remembered by his siblings, Faye Thompson (Bill) of Illinois, Joyce McKinney of Illinois, Darrell Pelston (Bette) of Columbia, KY, Bonnie Walker of Columbia, KY, and Pamela Saucier (Harry) of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Signora Coomer Pelston, and his brother, Glen Alton Pelston.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. A private burial will follow the services at Antioch Cemetery.
Bro. Darrell Pelston will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Brent, Bradley and Bart Pelston, Chad Price, Jerry Giles, and Dean Bomar.
Lowell Dean Pelston will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. His life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family, and his memory will continue to inspire those who carry the imprint of his kindness in their hearts.
