Laymon Norris, 80, of Columbia died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence.  Born in Cumberland County, KY he was the son of the late: Robert Austin and Clara Melton Norris.

Laymon worked at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing, ginseng hunting and dog trading.

Survived by two sons:  Michael Norris (Debbie) of Indianapolis, Indiana

Mark Norris of Tifton, Georgia   one brother: Gerald Norris (Sandra) of Columbia, KY

Five grandchildren: Kayla Norris, Myka Ray, Nathan Norris, Nicholas Norris, Austin Norris  One great grandchild Weston Norris

Also survived by Melissa Richard and husband Hobby, Kelly Ford, Roger Richard and Rayson Richard all of whom he loved like his own children.

He was preceded in death by his companion for 37 years Paula Fulp on April 20, 2015.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home

Bro. Ralph Foster will be officiating and pallbearers will be Hobby Richard, Roger Richard, Timmy Coffey, Eric Antle, Matthew Antle, Adam Montgomery.
