Lawrence Nell Compton age 84 years of Bridgeview, Illinois formerly of

Gradyville, KY passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at his home

He was the son of the late: Leonard W. & Lula M. Moore Compton of

Adair County, Kentucky

He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Emily Loy Compton of Bridgeview,

One son: Larry Compton and wife Melinda of Lockport, Illinois

One daughter: Karen Rains and husband: Bradley of Burbank, Illinois

Five grandchildren: Meleny Gunderson, Jamie Perino, Christine Davis

Rebecca Compton, Amy Compton

Three great grandchildren: Brittany Sherman-Rains, Pary's Jenie

Sherman-Rains, Robert Davis

Several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by one daughter: Lori Ann Compton on

January 10, 1968 by one brother & two sisters:

Virgil Compton, Ruby Bell Compton, Joyce Wade

Lawrence served in the US Army during World War II, serving in

Germany, France, Belgium, Africa, Italy and Switzerland from

1942 to 1946. He was retired from Sun Chemical, Chicago, Illinois

after 41 years of service as a foreman.
