KATHY JEAN GASKINS GRANT age 55 of 270 New Hope Church Road, Columbia, KY (the New Hope Community) passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at 5:25 P.M. at the University of Louisville Hospital from injuries she sustained in a pedestrian accident on the Columbia Square.

She is survived by her parents: James Ray & Jessie M. Burton Gaskins of Columbia, KY

Two sons: Scott Stargel of Columbia, KY

Cameron Grant of Columbia, KY

Two daughters: Tonya Feese & husband James of Knifley, KY

Janella Miller & husband Brian of Nancy, KY

One brother: Kenny Gaskins of Columbia, KY

Two sisters: Joan Gaskins of Columbia, KY

Susan Breeding of Columbia, KY

Five grandchildren:

Diamond & Trayton Stargel, Kiley & Grant Feese and Cal Miller

An unborn grandchild expected next June

She was preceded in death by one sister: Karen Anne Gaskins

Preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Alvin Reed & Mary Ann Williams Gaskins and maternal grandparents Russell & Mattie Caldwell Burton

Kathy was a criminal investigator for the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy and a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and was an active volunteer in the American Cancer Society

Funeral service: Monday, November 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

Clergy officiating: Bro. David Coffey & Bro. Vitis Bailey

Interment in the New Hope Cemetery
