Juanita S. (Janes) Underhill, 90, of Shepherdsville, returned to her heavenly father, February 8, 2025. She was born January 23, 1935 to the union of Hobson and Mabel Tabor Janes in Columbia, Kentucky, a member of over 30 years at South Jefferson Christian Church and for more than 30 plus years at Medora Christian Church in Louisville, a Ladies Auxiliary member at the V.F.W., Juanita was a homemaker all her life, a job she loved, she also worked for a short while at Bethany United Methodist Church's childcare department. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Hobson and Mabel Tabor Janes, first husband of over 30 years Billy J. Smith; Great grandson, Benjamin Smith; Stepson, David Underhill; Brother and sisters, Bernard, Lois, Patricia and Linda. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of over 30 years James E. Underhill; children; Joyce Armes, Sandra Williamson, Michael Smith, Janice Smith, Karen Brangers, Steven Smith, Shelia Stein, Cheryl Taylor, and Mark Underhill; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-five great- grandchildren, and four great great- grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial  in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00pm (Eastern Standard Time), Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky and Friday February 14, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home from 10:00-1:00pm at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
