Joyce Ann Hatcher Biggs, 80, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away on September 20, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 12, 1946, in Adair County, Kentucky to the late Atties Allen and Nannie Dohoney Hatcher. Joyce lived a life centered on home, faith, and the people she loved. She was a homemaker and also worked at Oshkosh, carrying out both roles with steady dedication. She was the last surviving of 13 siblings, a distinction that spoke to the long arc of family history she carried with her throughout her life.

Joyce found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures. She enjoyed shopping, being outdoors, and mowing her yard, and she especially treasured spending time with her family and friends. Those who knew her will remember a woman who took comfort in everyday routines and who valued the companionship of those around her.

Her faith was also an important part of her life. Joyce was a member of Trinity Church, and that membership reflected a lasting spiritual foundation that remained with her through the years.

Survivors include two daughters Debra Haste and Carolyn Garmon (Shane) both of Columbia, KY; six grandchildren Natalie Marcum (Joe), Brandi Feese (Dylan), Jacob Doss (Natalie), Adam Doss (Lexi), Aubree Garmon and Avery Garmon; two great grandchildren Emery and Maverick Doss; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J. D. Biggs and thirteen siblings Ralph, James, William, Billy, Bob, Tommy, Wayne, and Kenneth Hatcher, Barbara Hatcher, Brenda Henson, Bedelia Burchett, Pat Morrison and Mae Lucas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Wednesday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Steve Pescosolido will be officiating and pallbearers will be Jamie Hatcher, Joe Marcum, Shane Garmon, Adam Doss, Jacob Doss and Bo Biggs.

Joyce will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who shared in her life and friendship. Her memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew her, and her life will be honored for its devotion to family, her enjoyment of the world around her, and the quiet strength with which she lived.
