Obituary

Joshua David Harden, 44, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away on June 18, 2026, in Columbia. Born on September 29, 1981, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, Joshua was a devoted family man, a dedicated professional, and a passionate outdoorsman whose presence touched many lives in his community and beyond.

A 1999 graduate of Adair County High School, Joshua's commitment to service extended beyond his civilian career. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, exemplifying honor and dedication.

Joshua's professional life was marked by a steadfast commitment to the people of Kentucky. Beginning his career as an insurance agent for Kentucky Farm Bureau in 2008, he quickly established himself as a trusted advisor. In 2013, he was appointed as the Agency Manager for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Barren County Agency, a position he held with distinction until 2024. Under his leadership, the agency flourished, reflecting his dedication to both his work and his community.

Beyond his professional achievements, Joshua attended Kellyville Community Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding joy in the natural world and in sharing these passions with his loved ones. He especially treasured hunting trips to Alaska, where he engaged in bear hunting alongside his children—a testament to his love of family and the outdoors. He also took great pleasure in taking youth hunting, offering young people meaningful experiences in nature.

His proudest accomplishments included serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Cumberland Family Medical, contributing to the betterment of healthcare services in the community. He also sponsored numerous Barren County Little League sports and the Barren County Boys and Girls Club.

Joshua's family was central to his life. He is survived by his loving parents, David and Margaret Smith Harden of Columbia, KY; his children, Blaine, Mason, James, and Sarah Beth Harden; his brother, Jonathan Harden and his wife Tasha; and his cherished grandmother, Elizabeth Harden Graham. He also leaves behind his special friend, Missy Garmon, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will remember his warm spirit and generous heart.

Known for his kindness, generosity, and infectious enthusiasm, Joshua enjoyed spending time with family and friends, enriching the lives of those around him through his genuine nature and unwavering support.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, June 22, 2026 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00-8:00pm and will continue Monday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Matt Pendleton will be officiating and pallbearers will be Brad Sparks, Chad Burton, Ben Franklin, Jeff York, Blaine Harden and Jay Coleman.  Honorary pallbearers will eb Mason, James, and Sarah Beth Harden.
