Joseph Burton age 79 of the Millerfield Community of Adair County passed away Saturday April 7, 2012 at 9:40 AM at his home after several months illness

He was born February 23, 1933 in Adair County the son of the later Lether and Ruthie Bryant Burton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years: Rachel Holmes Burton of Columbia, KY

One daughter: Connie Rich and husband David of Dunnville, KY

Two sons: Phillip Burton and wife Beverly of Columbia, KY

Larry Burton of Columbia, KY

Two brothers: Wendell Burton and Onda Wayne Burton both of Columbia, KY

One sister: Katie McKinney of Columbia, KY

Five grandchildren: Nathan Burton, Aaron Burton, Cody Burton, Penny Brown, Abby Burton

One step grandchild: Wesley Melson and eight great grandchildren

Brothers and sisters in law: Ray & Jean Holmes, Junior & Ann Holmes, Roger & Gayle Holmes, Ruth Wright, Fay & Buel Bottoms

Also survived by several nieces, nephews and host of friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by son: Kevin Randall Burton one August 30, 1983, one grandchild, April Lynn Burton, one sister Wanda Burton

Five brothers, Zenith Burton, Jimmy Burton, Rondal "Moonbeam" Burton, Goble Burton, Minnie Burton and his father and mother in law: Lindsey & Thelma Holmes

Joseph was a logger and a farmer.
