He was the son of the late Norman & Jewell Antle Bledsoe

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Bledsoe,

He is survived by five children:

Barbara (Jimmy) Bunch of Columbia, KY

Karen Bledsoe of Columbia, KY

Tammy (David) Bryant of Greensburg, KY

Two brothers:

Grayson (Anna) Bledsoe of Louisville, KY

Danny (Winifry) of Louisville, KY

Two sisters:

Jeanette Kimbler of Columbia, KY

Shirley (Mick) Green of Ohio

A good friend Janet Hetzler of Columbia, KY

John attended the Glensfork Church of the Nazarene

He had requested his body to be given to the University of Louisville
