She was born in Adair Co. KY on July 1, 1921 the daughter of the late: Guy and Beatrice Coomer Firquin

She was a retired Jefferson County School System teacher where she taught at the Fairdale Elementary School for many years.

Preceded in death by her husband: Olen Kerns on March 2, 1997

One brother: Rev. Joe Firquin, two sisters Ruby Bell & Elva England
