James Ray Gaskins age 84 years of the Ella Community of Adair Co. KY

passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 3:25 PM at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room

He was born on Sept. 5, 1930 in Adair County

He was the son of the late Alvin Reed & Mary Ann Williams Gaskins

was preceded in death by two daughters Kathy Jean Gaskins Grant on

Oct. 30, 2009 & Karen Anne Gaskins in 1962,

Three brothers Paul Gaskins & two infant brothers,

Two sisters Elva Inis Gaskins Stroup & Unema Gaskins Roberts

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jessie M. Burton Gaskins of Columbia, KY

One son Kenneth D. Gaskins & his wife Lou Ann of Columbia, KY

Two daughters Joan M. Gaskins & Susan Breeding of Columbia, KY

Son-in-law Earl Grant of Columbia, KY

also surviving one brother Ruben E. Gaskins of Campbellsville, KY

two sisters Opal Temple of Kokomo, Indiana & Geneva Workman of

Louisville, KY

5 Grandchildren Barry Scott Stargel, Tonya Renee Grant Feese &

her husband James, Janella Rae Grant Miller & her husband Brian,

Cameron Wade Grant, Brandon Keith Breeding

7 Great Grandchildren Diamond Sanita Stargel, Trayton Scott Stargel,

Kiley Feese, James Grant Feese, Calvin Adam Miller, Kathyryn A. Miller,

Canyon Miller

several nieces, nephews & a host of other relatives & friends survives

Mr. Gaskins attended the New Hope Separate Baptist Church

a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps

& was a farmer
