HOMER BALLENGER age 83 years a resident of Summit Manor Health

Rehab Center in Columbia, KY formerly of the (Cundiff Community) passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 3:40 AM at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY after several days illness.

He was the son of the late: LaRue and Bessie Kimbler Ballenger of

Russell County, Kentucky

He was preceded in death by his wife:

Juanita McKinney Ballenger on June 23, 1976

He later married Edna Dykes Cape Ballenger of Columbia, KY who survives

Survived by one son: Steven Ballenger of Jamestown, KY

One step son: Darrell Cape & wife Lisa of Columbia, KY

One sister: Jerelene Cummings of Jamestown, KY

One step grandson: Derek Cape of Columbia, KY

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by one sister: Nadine Powell

Two infant brothers: Franzel Ballenger and Jasper Ballenger

And by one step son: Doyle Cape on August 23, 2005

Mr. Ballenger was a water and oil well driller for over 40 years in South

Central Kentucky, a member of the Melson Ridge Seperate Baptist Church

where he served as a deacon.
