GORDON J. STARGEL age 92 years of 171 Wesley Goodin Road, Columbia, KY (the Millerfield Community) passed away, Thursday October 1, 2009 at 3:00 AM at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg, KY

He was born August 22, 1917 the son of the late: Jake & Susie Campbell Stargel of Adair County, Kentucky He was preceded in death by his wife: Delta Goodin Stargel on October 21, 2006

Survived by one son: Phillip Stargel & wife: Faye of Columbia, KY

Four daughters: Marba Coomer & husband Albert of Ramsey, Indiana

Wanda Stargel of Columbia, KY, Sue Loy & husband Dan of Campbellsville, Geneal Abrell & husband Charlie of Columbia, KY

Three brothers: Willie Stargel & Jimmy Stargel both of Louisville, KY & Jerry Rector of Columbia, KY

Three sisters: Alta Grider & Doris Jean Holmes of Columbia, KY Darlene Hale of Louisville, KY

Survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren,

Several nieces and nephews and these caregivers, Jewel Wilkerson,

Carol Barnett and Gail Holmes R.N.

Also preceded in death by three infant children, Judith Anne, Jeffrey and Rodney Stargel, three brothers Clarence, Tom and Dallas Stargel, Five sisters Clemie Rector, Nina Rector, Ora Lee Womack, Betty Lou Stargel & Mary Jane Bryant

Mr. Stargel was a member of the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and a former bus driver for the Adair County Board of Education and a retired farmer.

Funeral service: Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
