Obituary

Edgar Troutman, 96, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at 7:30 a.m. at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

Mr. Troutman was a retired manager of the Kentucky Utilities in Adair and Russell County. He was a member of the Columbia Christian Church where he served for many years in the office of deacon and elder and Sunday School teacher. He was a past president of the Men for Christ and a long time board member of the White Mills Christian Camp. A U S Army World War II veteran, he was a charter member and life member of Columbia VFW Post 6097 where he served as Post Commander and Post Quartermaster. He was a member of the Adair County Fair Board for many years.

A longtime member of the Columbia Rotary Club, he was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a member of the Columbia City Council for several years and the Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, travel and woodworking.

He was born October 30, 1917 in Columbia, Kentucky the son of the late: Fred Montgomery and Effie Turpin Troutman

Preceded in death by his wife: Gracie Lee Overstreet Young Troutman in 1997

one daughter: Elizabeth Lee Troutman in 1999

Preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Troutman and James Troutman

and one sister: Mary Hancock

Survived by two daughters: Wanda Beard and husband Bobby of Columbia, KY

and Patricia Troutman of Columbia, KY

One brother: Fred Troutman of Frankfort, KY

One sister: Ada Coffey of Montpelier, KY

Two grandchildren: Cheri (Larry) Hutchison and Kenneth (Jami) Beard

Five great grandchildren: Wesley Hutchison, Ross Hutchison, Paige (Derek) Nickel,

Chadd Beard and Austin Beard

Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends

Funeral service: Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Columbia Christian Church
