Duncan Rand, age 76 years of the Fairplay Community in Adair County passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at 2:25 PM at Signature Health at Summit Manor in Columbia.  He was born August 5, 1940 in Rumford, Maine, the son of the late Clarence Winslow and Dorothy Morton Ross Rand.  Duncan was preceded in death by his wife Faye Hitchens in 1986.

He is survived by one son; John Rand and his wife Diane of St. Cloud, FL.

One brother; Roderick Rand of Berlin, New Hampshire.

One sister; Dorothy Young of Bedford, New Hampshire.

One grandchild; John Rand.

A special friend; Bradley McClister of Columbia, KY.

Several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Duncan was a retired carpenter and served as a United States Marine Corp.  He enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and caring for pets.

Cremation was chosen.
