Diane Yarberry Murrell, 72, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. Born on March 27, 1954, in Glasgow, KY, Diane lived a life devoted to education and family, leaving behind a remarkable legacy through her work and the relationships she cherished.

A dedicated school teacher in the Adair County School System for 33 years, Diane was committed to shaping the minds and hearts of countless children throughout her career. Her passion for educating young learners was evident in the lasting impact she made on her students, who benefited from her patience, knowledge, and kindness. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Diane was known for her warm spirit and her joy in spending meaningful time with her family and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved parents, G. V. and Anna Margaret Polston Yarberry, as well as her brothers Gaylon, Tyrone, and Rocky Yarberry. She is survived by her daughter, Macy Smith and her husband Ronnie of Bowling Green, KY, who stood by her side during her final days. Diane’s love extended further to her cherished grandchildren, Tristen Smith of Bowling Green, KY, and Abby Smith of Lexington, KY, who were a source of great pride and happiness in her life.

Her caring nature also touched the lives of her extended family members. She is lovingly remembered by her niece, Chastity Spaulding; nephews Joel Yarberry and Tyler Yarberry; and great nephew and niece, Steven Spaulding and Katie Gosser.

Family, friends, former colleagues, and all whose lives were graced by Diane’s gentle spirit are invited to honor her memory at a Memorial Gathering on April 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Both events will be held at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, located at 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY 42728.
