DAVID EARL GILLESPIE age 80 years of Campbellsville, KY passed
away Monday, July 1, 2013 at 3:58 PM at the Taylor Regional Hosptial
in Campbellsville, KY after several weeks illness.
He was born September 1, 1932 and raised in Bethel, Ohio a little town near Cincinnati. He attended grade school and high school in Bethel and entered the Air Force after graduation during the Korean Conflict.
After returning from the military he came to Campbellsville to attend Campbellsville College. He graduated from there in 1960 and the later received a Master's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He also did graduate work at Western KY University, He taught in the Taylor County and Adair Co School Systems until retiring in the 1990's.
He worked as Registrar and Business Manager at Campbellsville College for several years. He was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church for over 50 years. David's proudest achievement was teaching the Sunday School Class at Medco Nursing Home for 35 years. He still remembered many of the residents at his death.
Survived by his wife of 52 years: Rosemary Hancock Gillespie of Campbellsville, KY
One sister survives: Florence Taggart of Williamsburg, Ohio
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service: Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM Central 12 Noon Eastern at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY

Visitation will begin Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 3:00 PM Central - 4:00 PM Eastern at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
There will be no visitation on Thursday, July 4th and visitation resumes again on Friday morning after 6:00 AM until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
