He was born April 30, 1940 in the Nell Community of Adair County, Kentucky the son of the late: Walter Lee and Birbie Jane England Compton

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters:

Clinton Compton, Jimmy Compton , Clayton Compton, Mildred Lee Moore, Nina Jessie, Ruby Dial, Margaret Jessee, Edna Sexton and Beatrice Gowen and by 6 nieces and nephews

Survived by one sister: Irene Pickett of Louisville, KY and by 29 nieces and nephews

Coby was a long time lawn care worker in Columbia

Funeral service: Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home
