CLARA GENEVA HAYES, 96 years of  Chelsea, Michigan formerly of the Glensfork Community of Adair County, Kentucky passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Chelesa Retirement Center in Chelea, Michigan.

She was born in Creelsboro, Kentucky March 24, 1921 the daughter of the late Fred and Jennie Ross Acree.

She was preceded in death by a son: Winston Hayes; brothers: Ross Acree, Joe Acree,  Dick Acree and A V Acree; sister: Minnie Dermody.

Survived by one daughter Sylvia Doughty and husband John of Saline, Michigan.

Three granddaughters: Jenni Stacy (Scott), Julie Keyes (Beau) Joanie Turner (Jim)  and 5 great grandchildren.

One sister Reno Hoskinson and husband Henry of Louisville, KY.

Also survived by several other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hayes was of the Methodist faith and was retired from the University of Michigan.

Funeral service: Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Burial in the Columbia Cemetery.
