Christopher Wayne Cowan, 45, of Columbia died Saturday, August 29, 2020 at his residence.  Born on June 8, 1975 in Adair County he is the son of Phillip Cowan and Sandy Withers Janes.

Chris was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and Masonic Lodge #96.  He was a 1993 graduate of Adair County High School, where he was a very proud member of the football team and President of the FFA.  He was very proud of his children and loved spending time with all of his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents Sandy Withers Janes (special friend Herby Harrell) and Phillip Cowan (Sherry) all of Columbia; three children Colby, Katelyn and Case Cowan all of Columbia; a sister Keisha Baker (Brent) of Columbia; maternal grandmother Jeanette Keith (David) of Columbia; a step-sister Stefanie Wood of Campbellsville, KY and a host of other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his step-father Richie Janes; paternal grandparents Walker and Doris Cowan and maternal grandfather Avis Withers.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm and continue on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.

Bro. Bobby Withers will be officiating and pallbearers will be Bruce Cundiff, Jamie Richard, Derek Richard, Brandon Cornelison, Chad Morrison, Dusty Claiborn, Grant Caldwell and Brian Cowan.
