Carrie Lee Kerns, 69, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY with her family by her side. She was born February 10, 1953, in Cleveland, OH to the late Loe and Leona Bailey Smith.

Carrie enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Joe Kerns of Russell Springs, KY; two sons Joe Kelly Kerns (Melissa) of Richmond, KY, and Matthew Kerns (Keri) of Hiseville, KY; five grandchildren Caleigh, Hunter, Sydney, Ava, and Sawyer Kerns; two siblings Gary Smith (Joann) of Columbia, KY, and Katherine Poulan (Jerry) of Augusta, GA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Nicholas Kerns and three brothers Larry, Eddie, and Tommy Smith.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, January 16, 2023, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Kerns Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Monday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Richie Curtis will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Eric Kerns, Keith Kerns, Hunter Kerns, Steven Kerns, Kennedy McFarland, and Tony Kerr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Sawyer Kerns, Carl Mings, Kyle McFarland, and Clint Smith.
