Carolyn Sue Coomer, age 82, of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia. Born on January 31, 1944, in Adair County, Kentucky, Carolyn lived a life filled with devotion to her family, faith, and community.

Throughout her years, Carolyn was known for her warm spirit and creative talents. She was a member of the Egypt Christian Church and found great joy in crocheting and quilting.  Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, valuing those connections deeply.

She is survived by her loving siblings, Dalton Coomer, Loy Coomer (Rita), and Darrell Coomer (Connie), all of Columbia, Kentucky. Carolyn also leaves behind cherished sisters-in-law Shirley Coomer, Virginia Coomer, and Annette Coomer, along with several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jerome and Gladys Munday Coomer, and by siblings Selby, Garry, Glenn, Woodson, James Maxey, Alton, Larry, and John Wayne Coomer and a sister-in-law Faye Coomer.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday after 10:00am at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Rev. Paul Patton will be officiating and pallbearers will be Jeff Karnes, Jamison Karnes, Eric Coomer, Dexter Coomer, Jacob McGowan, and Earl Hartman.

Carolyn’s life was a testament to love and faith. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and community.
