October 15, 1938 – July 19, 2024
Bonnie Sue Janes, 85, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Adair County on October 15, 1938, to the late Will and Ada Pearl Keltner Shirley. She was preceded in death by her husband Ollen Davis Janes on February 24, 2024.
Mrs. Janes was a member of the Pickett's Chapel Church and the Adair County Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, taking pictures, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include a son Barney Janes (Doris) of Columbia, KY; four grandchildren Sarah Streeval (Keith), Michael Janes, John Janes, and Rebecca Godsey (Alan); eleven great grandchildren Timothy, Matthew, Zachery, Jackson, Benjamin, Katelyn, and Madelyn Streeval, Christian and Wade Janes, and Merlin and Christina Godsey; two siblings John Shirley and Ellen Wiggs.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Bella Streeval and four siblings Robert and Allen Shirley, Sally Smith, and Mary Keltner.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, July 22, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Tarter's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Monday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Larry Wisdom and Bro. Larry Huckaby will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Michael Janes, John Janes, Keith Streeval, Alan Godsey, Timothy Streeval, and Steve Smith.
