Betty Louise Dunbar Nobles, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late William Pinkney (Pink) and Flora Ella Kerns Dunbar of Garlin, Ky. Louise was the youngest of 9 children and a proud "Burton Ridger", claiming in her youth to "...know everybody on 206 from Garlin to Green River. A retired LPN having worked at Summit Manor Nursing Home and the Adair County Health Department.
Louise was preceded in death by husband of 56 years, Tommy Nobles of Columbia. She is survived by a sister, Marie Baise of Springfield, Ill., one son William (Billy) Neal of Columbia, one grandson William Douglas, currently serving in Kandahar, Afghanistan, his wife Laura Dee York Nobles and their two children, William Matthew and Nita Addyson of Fort Riley, Ks. Three step grandchildren, Donald Gene Burton his wife Delphine, and their son Patrick of Bowling Green, Ky. Misty Lee Claywell and daughter Jenna Lee of Columbia. Michael Dean Burton, wife Alison and three children, Taylor Michelle, Braydon David and Emma Lacy of Glasgow, Ky.
Numerous nieces and nephews that have always held a special place in her heart. Members of the Columbia United Methodist Church and friends in Adair County.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:10 am at the Columbia United Methodist Church
Clergy officiating: Rev. Neil Janes
The family will receive friends after 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the Columbia United Methodist Church
