Obituary

Bertha Ann Goodin, 86, of Columbia, KY passed away on October 31, 2026, at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, Kentucky. She was born on August 3, 1940, in Illinois to the late Willie Mat Feese Sr. and Grace Davis Feese.

Bertha lived a life marked by faith, steady work, and enjoyment of the people and pastimes she loved most. She worked as a bookkeeper at Durham Grocery and M & W Milling, where her dedication and reliability were part of the daily fabric of her work.

She was a member of Beulah Chapel Brethren in Christ Church, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher and song leader. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she gave of herself through both teaching and music in the life of her church community.

Bertha found happiness in many simple and lasting pleasures. She was an avid golfer at Pinewood Country Club and also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She loved Cincinnati Reds baseball, and that enthusiasm was one more way she shared joy and connection with those around her.

Bertha Ann Goodin will be remembered with affection for her faithful spirit, her active and engaged life, and the warmth she brought to her family, friends, church, and community. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.

Survivors include two children Kimberly Ann "Kim" and Eric Goodin both of Columbia, KY; two grandchildren Lauren Michelle Goodin Willis (Cody) and Ashley Nicole Goodin; two great grandchildren Ellie and Emma Willis; her siblings Willie Mat Feese Jr. (Donna), Eileen Hamilton (Paul) and Barbara Frazier; brothers-in-law Jack Collins and Larry Goodin (Patricia); a sister-in-law Carol Parker (Mitch); caregivers Lana Burris, Treva Phillips and Marie Lemmon and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Goodin, a sister Margie Collins, a brother-in-law Mark Frazier and a nephew Jeff Feese.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Beulah Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Wednesday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Steve Martin and Bro. Clifton Bennett will be officiating and pallbearers will be Craig Feese, Kevin Hamilton, Chris Maurath, David Burris, Neal Coomer, Larry Radford and Jeralyn Spires. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Bennett, Mark Myer, Gary Parker, Norman Ralph Parker, Jonathan Frazier, Josh Frazier and Neil Goodin.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Summit Manor Nursing Home for the care and compassion given to Mrs. Goodin and their family during their time there.
