Alvert Chandler Bennett, 90, of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, May 15, 2026, at his residence. He was born on November 22, 1935, in Adair County, KY to the late Willie “W.L.” and Iva Lee Grant Bennett. He was also preceded in death by a sister Bernice Rey Rupe and a niece Dorothy Stephens.

Chandler formerly attended the Tabor Community Church and enjoyed farming, logging and riding around.

Survivors include a nephew by marriage Bobby Stephens, three great nephews Jacob Stephens, Lucas Stephens and Andrew Rupe and a great great niece Claire Stephens.

Funeral services will be 11:00am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Loy Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:00am on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
