Obituary

Alice Faye Coffey Irvin, 72, of Columbia, KY, passed away at home on Friday, May 29, 2026. Mrs. Irvin was born in Adair County, KY on April 20, 1954, the second child, first daughter of Robert & Agnes Coffey.

Alice was a graduate of Adair County High School and later attended Lindsey Wilson College and Radiology School in Bowling Green, KY. After obtaining her American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, she went on to spend many years working at Westlake Community Hospital and later became Director of Springfield Hospital Radiology Department. She cherished her years in the medical field helping others.

Alice had many talents from all forms of arts, crafts, plants and the love of collecting. She loved a great bargain and the search for a beloved collectible. She was well known in the community for the great joy she had in so many talents. She was a member of Bearwallow Methodist Church.

Her greatest joy came from the love she had for her family, children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family and spending time with children of all ages.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert Lee and Agnes Louise (Taylor) Coffey.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Wayne Irvin; two daughters Tina (Chris) Ward, and Jamie Irvin; three grandsons James Ward, Ryan Ward, and Oliver Schaefer and three siblings JR Coffey (Joyce) of Columbia, KY, Linda Smith (Ricky) of Columbia, KY, and Judy Stephens (Kyle) of Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services will be 3:00pm, Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Bearwallow Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00pm Monday at Bearwallow Methodist Church.

Bro. Logan Wilkerson and Bro. Wes Irvin will be officiating, and pallbearers will be James Ward, Ryan Ward, Oliver Schaefer, Braxton Irvin, Jonn Stephens and Jeremy Jones.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
